Daasity is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Director of Analytics & Business Intelligence to join our team! As the Director of Analytics & Business Intelligence you will be responsible for the development of a world-class business analytics practice which empowers data-driven decision making and operational results for our merchants. This position will serve as the key internal expert and collaborator for senior executives and functional leaders across the merchant organization including Marketing, Merchandising, Operations and Finance teams.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of 5-8 data analysts and analytics engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, and Engineering, to align on goals, strategies, and deliverables. 
    • Develop a high-performance culture within the team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  2. Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure business success and drive actionable insights.

    • Develop and execute the overall business intelligence and analytics strategy, aligning it with the merchant’s vision and goals. 
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in data analytics methodologies, tools, and processes. 
  3. Client Consultation and Consumer Brand Solution Design:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to our consumer brand merchants, understanding their unique business challenges and goals. 
    • Collaborate with merchants to define and prioritize their business and analytics requirements, providing expert guidance on data-driven strategies and solutions. 
    • Lead root cause analyses to explain key drivers of business performance and variances when multiple factors can confound conclusions such as seasonality, content slate differences, product set changes, assortment/pricing variances, supply chain distribution impacts, etc. 
    • Design and architect customized solutions to address complex business issues and deliver valuable insights to clients. 
  4.  Analytics Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with data analysts and analytics engineers to understand data requirements and ensure efficient data modeling and extraction. 
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance on data analytics best practices, including data governance, quality assurance, and data visualization. 
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning. 
  5. Client Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations, ensuring their satisfaction and ongoing partnership. 
    • Collaborate with the Sales team to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, leveraging the value of our data analytics platform and services. 
    • Proactively address client concerns and provide timely resolutions to maintain high levels of client retention and satisfaction. 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data-driven consulting roles, preferably within the e-commerce industry.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and database management, with experience in designing complex queries and reporting solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of data analytics methodologies, tools, and best practices, including data visualization and storytelling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable analytics solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in working with consumer brands and a solid understanding of the e-commerce industry dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms, business intelligence tools, and cloud-based technologies is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • A strategic mindset with a passion for leveraging data analytics to drive business growth and success.
